Ingredients
Scale:
1x
- 1/3 cup gochujang (Korean chile paste)
- 2 tablespoons gochugaru (Korean chile powder)
- 2 tablespoons sugar
- 2 tablespoons toasted sesame oil
- 3 tablespoons water
- 2 tablespoons unseasoned rice vinegar
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 2 teaspoons minced peeled fresh ginger
- 1 teaspoon minced garlic
Instructions
- In a medium bowl, combine all ingredients.
- Whisk thoroughly until sugar is dissolved and sauce is well combined.
- Use immediately to coat wings or as a dipping sauce, or refrigerate in an airtight container.
Tips
Both gochujang and gochugaru can be found at Korean markets or in the international section of well-stocked grocery stores. The sauce can be made ahead and stored in the refrigerator for up to a week. For a thicker consistency, reduce the amount of water. This versatile sauce works great on grilled chicken, as a marinade for pork, or as a spicy condiment for rice bowls.
