A rich and creamy homemade blue cheese dressing with the perfect balance of tangy and savory flavors. Studded with chunks of blue cheese for authentic texture and taste.

Ingredients

Scale: 1x
  • 1 garlic clove, crushed and finely diced
  • 1 pinch dry mustard
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon onion salt
  • 1 pinch white pepper
  • 1 tablespoon plus 1 teaspoon red wine vinegar
  • 1/3 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 3 drops Tabasco
  • 1/3 cup sour cream
  • 1 cup mayonnaise
  • 1 1/2 ounces buttermilk
  • 3 ounces bleu cheese

Instructions

  1. Crush garlic clove and dice fine.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together the dry mustard, black pepper, onion salt, white pepper, red wine vinegar, Worcestershire sauce, and Tabasco.
  3. Add the sour cream and mix until smooth.
  4. Gradually whisk in the mayonnaise until well incorporated.
  5. Slowly stir in the buttermilk to achieve desired consistency.
  6. Gently fold in the bleu cheese, being careful to leave lumpy for authentic texture.
  7. Refrigerate for at least 1 hour before serving to allow flavors to develop.

Tips

For the best flavor, use a good quality blue cheese such as Roquefort, Gorgonzola, or Danish blue. This dressing tastes even better after sitting overnight in the refrigerator. If you prefer a thinner consistency, add a little more buttermilk. For a chunky presentation, reserve some of the blue cheese crumbles to sprinkle on top just before serving.
