- 9 cups Chex cereal, various types (Corn, Rice, Wheat) (Can also include pretzels, nuts, bagel chips, etc.)
- 1 stick Butter , melted ((1/2 cup))
- 1 tablespoon Dried parsley
- 1 teaspoon Celery salt
- 1 teaspoon Garlic powder
- 0.5 teaspoon Cayenne pepper ((adjust to taste))
- 8 drops Hot sauce (e.g., Tabasco) ((adjust to taste))
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 250°F (120°C).
- In a small bowl, whisk together the melted butter, parsley, celery salt, garlic powder, cayenne pepper, and hot sauce.
- Place the Chex cereal (and any other desired mix-ins like pretzels or nuts) in a large roasting pan.
- Pour the butter and seasoning mixture evenly over the Chex mix.
- Stir thoroughly to ensure all pieces are coated.
- Bake for 30 minutes, stirring well every 15 minutes to ensure even cooking and prevent burning.
- Remove from oven and let cool completely before storing in an airtight container.
Tips
Feel free to add other ingredients like mixed nuts, bagel chips, or oyster crackers along with the Chex cereal. Adjust cayenne and hot sauce for your preferred heat level.
