Chipotle Maple BBQ Sauce

Ingredients

  • ½ cup Ketchup
  • ½ cup Maple syrup
  • 2 cup Chicken stock
  • ¼ teaspoon Allspice
  • 2 medium Onion (minced)
  • 4 large Garlic clove
  • 2 tablespoon Lemon juice

Instructions

  1. In a blender, combine the chipotles with the ketchup, maple syrup, broth and allspice and puree until smooth.
  2. In a medium saucepan, heat some oil until shimmering.
  3. Add the onion and garlic and cook over moderately high heat until golden, 5 minutes.
  4. Add the chipotle puree. Season with salt and pepper.
  5. Cook over moderate heat until thickened, 15 minutes.
  6. Stir in the lemon juice.
  7. Transfer to a bowl and let cool.
