Chocolate Buttermilk Sheet Cake

- 2 cup Flour
- 2 cup Sugar
- ½ teaspoon Salt
- 2 stick Butter or margarine
- 1 cup Water
- 4 tablespoon Cocoa powder
- ½ cup Buttermilk
- 1 teaspoon Baking soda
- 1 teaspoon Vanilla flavoring
- 1 stick Butter or margarine
- 4 tablespoon Cocoa powder
- 6 tablespoon Milk
- 1 cup Pecans (chopped)
- 1 teaspoon Vanilla flavoring
Instructions
- 2 Egg(s), beaten
- FROSTING
- 1 box Confectioner's sugar(powdered)
- Pre-heat oven to 350º.
- In large bowl, sift flour and re-sift with sugar. Set aside.
- Put butter, cocoa and water in saucepan. Bring to boil and then pour into flour and sugar mixture.
- In separate bowl mix eggs, buttermilk, soda and vanilla. Add this to flour mixture.
- Bake in greased and floured pan(9 x 13) for 30 minutes.
- FROSTING
- Mix butter, cocoa and milk in saucepan but do not let it boil.
- Remove from heat and add sugar, pecans and vanilla. Mix well. Frost when still hot.
Tips
Always preheat your oven and check for doneness a few minutes before the suggested baking time.
