Classic Chocolate Chip Cookies

Soft and chewy chocolate chip cookies with a perfect golden edge.

- 1 cup Unsalted butter , softened (230g)
- 0.75 cup Granulated sugar (150g)
- 0.75 cup Brown sugar , packed (160g)
- 2 large Eggs
- 2 teaspoons Vanilla extract
- 2.25 cups All-purpose flour (280g)
- 1 teaspoon Baking soda
- 0.5 teaspoon Salt
- 2 cups Semi-sweet chocolate chips (350g)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Line baking sheets with parchment paper.
- In a large bowl, cream together butter and both sugars until light and fluffy, about 3 minutes.
- Beat in eggs one at a time, then stir in vanilla.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt.
- Gradually add dry ingredients to wet ingredients, mixing just until combined.
- Fold in chocolate chips.
- Drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto prepared baking sheets, spacing them 2 inches apart.
- Bake for 9-11 minutes or until edges are golden but centers are still soft.
- Allow cookies to cool on baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to wire racks.
Tips
For extra-soft cookies, slightly underbake them and let them finish setting on the warm baking sheet.
