Ingredients

  • 1 cup Unsalted butter , softened (230g)
  • 0.75 cup Granulated sugar (150g)
  • 0.75 cup Brown sugar , packed (160g)
  • 2 large Eggs
  • 2 teaspoons Vanilla extract
  • 2.25 cups All-purpose flour (280g)
  • 1 teaspoon Baking soda
  • 0.5 teaspoon Salt
  • 2 cups Semi-sweet chocolate chips (350g)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, cream together butter and both sugars until light and fluffy, about 3 minutes.
  3. Beat in eggs one at a time, then stir in vanilla.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt.
  5. Gradually add dry ingredients to wet ingredients, mixing just until combined.
  6. Fold in chocolate chips.
  7. Drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto prepared baking sheets, spacing them 2 inches apart.
  8. Bake for 9-11 minutes or until edges are golden but centers are still soft.
  9. Allow cookies to cool on baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to wire racks.

Tips

For extra-soft cookies, slightly underbake them and let them finish setting on the warm baking sheet.
