Chocolate Tweed Cake

Ingredients

Scale: 1x
  • 2 cup Mashed potatoes
  • ¾ cup Butter
  • cup Sugar
  • cup Flour
  • 2 teaspoon Baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • ½ cup Milk
  • teaspoon Cinnamon
  • ½ teaspoon Cream of tartar
  • ½ teaspoon Ground cloves
  • ½ teaspoon Nutmeg
  • 2 ounce Chocolate (unsweetened)

Instructions

  1. Beat together butter and sugar. Beat in potatoes(make sure they are cool) and eggs, one at a time.
  2. Mix flour, baking powder, salt, cream of tartar and all the spices.
  3. Add flour mixture and milk to potato mixture, alternating and blending after each.
  4. Grate chocolate and stir in.
  5. Grease AND flour baking pan.
  6. Bake for 50 minutes.
  7. Let cool and glaze(dissolve 3 TBS water in 2 cups powdered sugar)

Tips

Make sure all dairy ingredients are well-chilled for best results. Always preheat your oven and check for doneness a few minutes before the suggested baking time.
