A simple yet flavorful baked appetizer featuring layers of jalapenos, cheese, and eggs. Perfect served on crackers.

Ingredients

Scale: 1x
  • 1 bottle Pickled jalapeno peppers, sliced , drained (Standard size jar (e.g., 12-16 oz))
  • 2 cups Mild cheddar cheese, shredded
  • 5 whole Eggs, large , beaten
  • Paprika (for sprinkling on top)
  • Flavored crackers or Fritos (for serving)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 275°F (135°C).
  2. Grease a 10-inch pie plate.
  3. Arrange the drained sliced jalapenos evenly over the bottom of the prepared pie plate.
  4. Sprinkle the shredded cheddar cheese evenly over the jalapeno layer.
  5. Pour the beaten eggs slowly and evenly over the cheese layer, ensuring the surface is covered.
  6. Sprinkle the top lightly with paprika.
  7. Bake for 45 minutes, or until the eggs are set and the top is lightly golden.
  8. Remove from oven and let cool in the pie plate for at least 10 minutes.
  9. Cut the cooled pie into small 1-inch squares or wedges.
  10. Serve the jalapeno pie pieces on flavored crackers (like bacon flavor) or Frito scoops.

Tips

Ensure the jalapenos are well-drained to avoid a watery pie. Letting it cool adequately before cutting helps the pieces hold their shape.
