- 1 cup Sugar
- 0.25 cup Salt
- 2 tablespoons Celery seed
- 2 tablespoons Cumin powder
- 2 tablespoons Cayenne pepper
- 2 tablespoons Garlic powder
- 1 tablespoon Chili powder
- 2 quarts Ketchup ((8 cups))
- 2 cups Cider vinegar
- 1.5 teaspoons Liquid Smoke
- 1 teaspoon Lemon juice
Instructions
- In a bowl, mix together all the spices: sugar, salt, celery seed, cumin powder, cayenne pepper, garlic powder, and chili powder.
- In a separate large bowl or container, combine the wet ingredients: ketchup, cider vinegar, liquid smoke, and lemon juice.
- Add the spice mixture to the wet ingredients.
- Mix very well until all the spices are thoroughly incorporated and the sugar and salt have dissolved.
- Serve warm or cold. The sauce can also be frozen for later use.
Tips
