Mrs. Fields Chocolate Chip

- 1 stick Butter
- ½ cup Sugar
- ½ cup Brown sugar
- 1 large Egg
- ½ teaspoon Vanilla
- 1 cup Flour (all-purpose, unbleached)
- 1¼ cup Oatmeal
- ½ teaspoon Salt
- ½ teaspoon Baking powder
- ½ teaspoon Baking soda
- 12 ounce Chocolate chips
Instructions
- Pre-heat oven to 375º
- Cream together the butter and sugars.
- Add the egg and vanilla to this mixture.
- Grind the oatmeal into a fine powder and mix together with the flour, salt, baking powder and soda.
- Add this dry mixture to the wet mixture above.
- When combined, add 12 ounces of chocolate chips.
- Roll into 1" balls and place on ungreased cookie sheet 2" apart.
- Bake for 6-8 minutes.
- This recipe will make about 50 cookies that are 2" wide.
Tips
Make sure all dairy ingredients are well-chilled for best results. Always preheat your oven and check for doneness a few minutes before the suggested baking time.
