Mrs. Fields Chocolate Chip

Ingredients

Scale: 1x
  • 1 stick Butter
  • ½ cup Sugar
  • ½ cup Brown sugar
  • 1 large Egg
  • ½ teaspoon Vanilla
  • 1 cup Flour (all-purpose, unbleached)
  • cup Oatmeal
  • ½ teaspoon Salt
  • ½ teaspoon Baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon Baking soda
  • 12 ounce Chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Pre-heat oven to 375º
  2. Cream together the butter and sugars.
  3. Add the egg and vanilla to this mixture.
  4. Grind the oatmeal into a fine powder and mix together with the flour, salt, baking powder and soda.
  5. Add this dry mixture to the wet mixture above.
  6. When combined, add 12 ounces of chocolate chips.
  7. Roll into 1" balls and place on ungreased cookie sheet 2" apart.
  8. Bake for 6-8 minutes.
  9. This recipe will make about 50 cookies that are 2" wide.

Tips

Make sure all dairy ingredients are well-chilled for best results. Always preheat your oven and check for doneness a few minutes before the suggested baking time.
