- 1 lb Peanuts ((approx 2-3 cups))
- 1 stick Butter , melted ((1/2 cup))
- 3 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- 2 teaspoons Seasoned salt (e.g., Lawry's)
- 1 teaspoon Garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon Onion powder
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 250°F (120°C).
- In a large roasting pan or a disposable foil half hotel pan, combine the Chex cereals and peanuts.
- Melt the butter in a small saucepan or microwave-safe bowl.
- Stir the Worcestershire sauce, seasoned salt, garlic powder, and onion powder into the melted butter until combined.
- Pour the butter mixture evenly over the cereal and nuts in the roasting pan.
- Stir gently but thoroughly until the cereal and nuts are evenly coated.
- Bake for 45 minutes, stirring well every 15 minutes to ensure even baking and prevent sticking.
- Remove from oven and spread the Chex Mix out on paper towels or parchment paper to cool completely.
- Once cool, store in an airtight container.
Tips
Feel free to add other mix-ins like pretzels or bagel chips along with the cereal and nuts. Stirring every 15 minutes is key to getting an evenly coated and crispy mix.
